I have been in a lot of hospitals and this one is by far the best. My husband broke his back and was taken to Brookhaven where the were not properly able to take care of him. They caused him to go hypoxic. So we got a transfer and within an hour we're in a totally different situation. They are highly skilled wonderfully trained and compassionate. Highly recommend
My mom was suppose to have her catheterization done early morning today so they made her fast since last night. Morning become late afternoon, late afternoon become almost 9pm, and at the end they delayed the procedure until the next day! We spoke to the doctors and nurses few times and they have no idea when they are going to bring her in for the procedure. At the end, they made false promise of few hours and “she is next” with uncertainty. The management at this place is the worst I come across. They made my mom, sick patient, go on fasting for 26 hours. If you have a choice, I would prefer a different hospital!
I give 5 stars for registration and quick triage........I give negative 1 for getting us in to past the waiting room!! 2 1/2 hours waiting!!!! Arrived at 8:40.......just took us to the back at 11:15!!! Slowest hospital ever! Should have listened to my mother and gone to South Side in Bay Shore!!! Are you kidding me??? Waiting room almost emptied! First told 4 ahead of us!! 6 went in!!! Unbelievable!!! (Says I was in last week!! I'm posting right now Sept 3 at 11:23)
Emergency care is absolutely horrid! Better off somewhere else!
I came to the hospital last night around 8pm with my Husband whom presented as a stroke. I sat in the Critical Care Unit on a hard chair next to my husband and asked doctors and nurses several times if they could get me a comfortable chair as I had just had a major surgery (anterior/posterior spinal fusion) at the hospital for special surgery and was having difficulty sitting in the chair due to my radiculopathy on both of my lower extremities so my legs and my feet are going numb and my back is killing me. Around 11 AM the next morning they told us that they had a room for us on the 13th floor which is the neurological floor when we got up to the 13th floor they placed us in the hallway unbeknownst to us of course I begged him to put us in a room somewhere due to my condition and putting a handicapped person in a hallway with people passing by with machinery is very cumbersome. After the ophthalmologist came up and see my husband she left two of her luggage is on the ground and guess what I backed up and tripped on one of them nobody cares still we sit in the hallway and if this site while out I have pictures of my husband in the hallway with luggage on the floor and me expected to sit in this extremely high traffic hallway. It’s amazing that you get treated like this when they hit my federal Blue Cross and Blue Shield the bill will be the same as if I had a room. What a disgrace and everybody just smiles and says oh well and this is what our healthcare has to Absolutely no compassion for a wife of a husband who had a stroke who is handicapped yourself and just started walking two months ago from her fusion I’m extremely upset to say the least but of course I am worried about my husband so I will stay here in this hallway with my back killing me and my legs numb. What a disappointment. I’m unable to upload the photographs of this hazard of the hallway.
